CashEdge, Inc. Pay-by-Bank Privacy Notice

 

This Privacy Notice describes the personal information that CashEdge, Inc. (“CashEdge,” "our," "we," and "us") collects about you in connection with your access to or use of our products or services (collectively, the “Services”), including what personal information we obtain and how we use, share, and protect it.  The Services include sharing your personal information with our affiliate, TeleCheck Services, LLC (“TeleCheck”), to request that TeleCheck provide processing services and consumer reports to merchants with whom you do business or seek to do business to effect merchant transactions that you request or authorize.  By accessing the Services, you agree to our collection, use, and sharing of personal information as described in this Privacy Notice.

 

Personal information we collect

 

When you authorize use of the Services in connection with linking your bank account to a merchant’s website, app, or loyalty program or paying for merchant transactions with your linked bank account, we may collect your contact information, unique device and online identifiers (such as IP address, device IDs), internet or other electronic activity information (such as browser type, web pages visited, and time spent on our website) and any additional personal information you provide to us directly or through a merchant.

We may collect your bank account and routing number, account ownership information, associated addresses, balance information, and bank account transaction data (“Bank Account Data”) from your bank, with your consent, when you initiate a transaction to link your bank account to a merchant’s website, app, or loyalty program and on an ongoing basis to confirm your eligibility for completing transactions using your bank account.  If your Bank Account Data relates to an account jointly held with someone else, we will collect data about everyone on your account.

 

How we use the personal information we collect

 

We may use your personal information for:

  • Requesting consumer reports from TeleCheck for merchants to use in determining your eligibility to link your bank account to a merchant’s website, app, or loyalty program or to pay for merchant transactions using your linked bank account in connection with merchant transactions you request or authorize;
  • Verifying your identity;
  • Preventing fraud; and
  • Conducting aggregated, anonymized analytics.

 

How we share your personal information

 

We may share your personal information, including Bank Account Data, with our affiliate, TeleCheck, so merchants can process payments from you using your bank account.  This may include allowing the merchant to obtain TeleCheck consumer reports for use in determining your eligibility to link your bank account to a merchant’s website, app, or loyalty program and to pay for merchant transactions using your linked bank account in connection with merchant transactions you request or authorize.

We may share your personal information, including Bank Account Data, with other Fiserv affiliates for purposes of verifying your identity, preventing fraud, and conducting analytics.

We may share your personal information with non-affiliated third parties:

  • To respond to court orders, government regulatory inquiries, and legal investigations;
  • To detect and prevent actual or potential fraud, unauthorized transactions, claims, or other liability;
  • To protect the confidentiality and security of your records pertaining to the Service;
  • To a consumer reporting agency in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act;
  • In connection with a proposed or actual sale, merger, transfer, or exchange of all or a portion of our business to a successor or transferee; or
  • To comply with applicable legal requirements.

We also may share your personal information, including Bank Account Data, with affiliates or third-party vendors that help us create and deliver the Services or improve our Services.

 

How we protect your personal information

 

We implement and maintain security measures, including administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, to protect the security, confidentiality and integrity of your personal information and to protect against unauthorize access to or use of your personal information.  These measures include computer safeguards, secured files, and secure buildings.
